sometimes you feel like a nut...

...sometimes you don't.  Sometimes you feel like blogging, and sometimes your life feels too personal to share.  I was simply not going to blog anymore.  It lasted like two minutes, then I decided just to write a quick post.

My weekend with friends was precious, as they always are.  Six of us were there...

Linda, Cathy, me, Karen, then Cheryl (my sister)  and Patty in the front...  We have been friends for decades, and it only gets better.  We laugh until my stomach hurts, then we encourage each other, then we're laughing again.  We are very lucky girls to have each other, and by lucky I do mean blessed.

Some charcuterie with some of the cookies I had already put away before the bad doggies got to them.
Just a wee taste of wine...(that gas fireplace has realistic flames and it got really warm in there!)
It was a dark rainy day, ever so cozy...
Our brekky...

It whizzes by, as good weekends do, leaving us quite melancholy at the thought of how long it will probably be until it happens again.  I did suggest a weekend in the camper, but I am not entirely certain any of us would be so good at towing and setting up, maybe at a close park on Lake Ontario, and Paul could set it up...

There were grandchildren here when I got home yesterday!

Achilles, then Grandpa with Jamie
A nice little hug.
Kids in a box...Blythe, cousins Jamie and Rhys, and brother Tennyson...

Baby B.  She's such a sweetie, she has this one book she always brings me to read to her, it's a baby name book with pictures only on the cover, but she likes it.  We look at the ABCs and the pictures of birds and cats, and her attention span is incredible.

There was no dinner planned, so they ordered pizza and wings, which was fine by me.  I was just happy to see everyone!  Margaret and Adrian and their three, Kathryn and Darius and their four, Sonja and Oscar, Jon and Rosi, Evelyn and Nate, Charlotte Claire and Camille, cousin Linnea...I think that's it.  Only 20:)

I went to the pool this fine morning, then puttered in the yard a little bit.  I washed some dishes, swept some floors, and did a load of laundry.  I have to go pick up the girls from Ben and Ashley's soon, they stayed there to watch their pup and the chickens for the weekend.  (they visited us here for a bit yesterday afternon, via Evelyn)

The days are flying by, and soon these next two weddings will be just sweet successful memories.  My head does spin, but I'm taking it one day at a time, and that's that.  I talked to a friend in the pool today, she's 80 years old and had both knees replaced in 2018 and 2019.  She said after one she was driving in a week, and after the other she went down to the basement the next day.  Um, I want to be like her when I grow up!  She also said she can't remember the knee pain she had.  That was quite encouraging.

I have to renew my driver's license.  In NY, you need a new exam each each time, so I either have to go to an eye dr., or to the DMV.  Well, we all know what THAT's like, especially with the new Real ID requirements for flying or entering government buildings.  harrumph.  Waiting in line is my favorite, when I can barely stand for more than five minutes at a time.  Red tape, government fees, policies, and overreach are also my favorite.

Ah well...have a really good day!

Please don't stop blogging! I'm just getting to know you! Plus, we need the "after" stories when you're feeling amazing with those new knees! :) Hugs to you Della, I also have experienced constant, wearing pain (thankfully not at the moment) and it is NOT FUN. May your surgery date come quickly, and may the operation be an unqualified success!!

My sister recently got a RealID (she's in San Diego CA) and said it was crazy! She was married and divorced twice and had to have the divorce papers for both, the first one was more than 50 years ago! I hope your eye test goes well!

Florida has had RealIDs since 2010. I had my passport and that was all I needed. So glad!! Your friends' weekend sounds like it was fun!! I enjoy your posts and hope you don't stop! Have a blessed week, Della!

I did the real ID conversion down here in NYC and I will say the nice ladies at the DMV had me in and out in a flash! They even let me retake my picture bc they looked at the first one and just shook their heads sadly.. second one came out great.

Love your grandkid pics- a cardboard box cannot be beat for kids toys!!
