a family picnic!

So the sheet cake I made for our Memorial Day picnic is all right...I mean, it's marble cake with buttercream, yum, but the writing on it, oh dear!  I want a do over!  Camille said it looks like the a comma after the L.  But to be fair, Paul had just realized that we haven't registered the camper, and was trying to do it online, but you know how those government websites can be, and it wouldn't let him.  "You'll have to go to the DMV", he was telling me.  So that's my excuse for the messy writing.

 I should have looked up a template or something to copy, but no, I just had to go freehanded...oh well.  It will taste good.

Today Benjamin and Ashley are having a family picnic at their house.  Badminton, cornhole, softball...coolers full of drinks (soft drinks, seltzers, water, iced coffee, not alcohol!).   We'll be grilling hot dogs and barbecued chicken, and there will be watermelons and fruits and salads, chips, cookies...all the good stuff.  

Best of all is that the family will be there.  I think 14 of the kids, spouses, all the grandkids...I'll try to take some good pictures!  You all have a very nice Memorial Day!
