Well, this fine afternoon, we went out for a beer. Yes, we really did! Jonathan was here for a visit, and I realized that he turned 21 yesterday, and we should go out for a beer! There is a nice little local brewery in town, five minutes away. I ordered a blackberry beer, only a five ounce pour. I drank less than half of it, which was difficult because it was SO good, but my body doesn't like alcohol much. It was a lovely day to sit outside though, and catch up with Jon. Oscar joined us for a bit, and we solved the world's problems.
Jon and Rosi's dog, Juni, also known as Chicken, thanks to Jonny. She went for a beer too, but didn't get any. She did get lots of pets from the other patrons though.I made cookies this fine morning, for Jon's birthday. Oatmeal chocolate chip, and lemon thumbprints with raspberry violet jam that my sister brought me from Australia. Thankfully I put some away for this weekend with my friends, because Jon had a few of the oatmeal c.c., and guess who ate the rest? Not me, not Paul. It was either Sunny, Suri, or both of them. The platter was on the counter, if I realized that Paul was going to leave the house while we were gone, I would have put it up higher.
Being mad won't help, especially because I totally should have battened down the hatches better, when will I learn? They seem so nonchalant and disinterested when we're here, but oh when they sense the coast is clear, they can suddenly stand up like peoples, and cruise the counters. The plate was still on the counter, with two cookies left. Either they were caught by Paul, they got full, or they didn't see them. You do have to feel a little bit sorry for us New Yorkers, and not just because of our governor. Look at those dark clouds and rain drops! Okay, I do love the rainy days...but not a whole week of it!
All right, you all have a nice night! Tomorrow is pool, then Miss Suze coming over, then Aldi for food for my friends' weekend...(airbnb on Seneca Lake, how nice is THAT?!). :)

My guest left this morning and I am trying to catch up with blogging friends. Those cookies look so good! How could anyone resist eating them?!! Wishing you a May filled with blessings!
I am down in NYC but same glum weather! My husband is coming back from a business trip this weekend and my mom coming in later this week for Mothers Day so crossing my fingers it clears up at least towards the end of the week. I’ve enjoyed this beautiful weather but would be great to enjoy more with them!
My dogs seem to have iron stomachs, or nine lives like kitties. :)
Well the weather forecast does look rather gloomy, but sometimes that sun will peek through unexpectedly, or at least it won't rain for a time period and be actually nice out...at least it's not freezing, and it's not snow. Right now, for example, it's gorgeous out here. But, rain is coming. Have fun with your mama, and having your husband back home!
Hi Della it’s still had to believe Jonny is 21 and married?? Good heavens. These kids just grow up so quickly. My granddaughter turned 30 this past February!!! Anyway that’s life isn’t it?
Those doggies 🥺 I’m sure they loved them though. My bouvier years ago …….and he was HUGE……..surfed the counter one day when I had just made scones or something. I ran Nextdoor for something and when I came in the front door I heard his big paddy paws hit the floor and he came to greet me with his whiskers and beard full of white crumbs. He was black so very obvious what he was up to. There was 1-2 left out of 12!!!
Your weekend away will bee nice. Do these things while you can I always say. It’s impossible for us to get away these days. We just couldn’t do it. So my advice is to travel as much as you can. I do glad we did.
It’s 26C here to day!! Just gorgeous! Out leaves are budding too. So beautiful
Have a lovely evening 🥰

Marilyn, that dog had a feast! It's so frustrating because it takes so long to make something nice, and they don't even chew it. Thank you for the travel advice, I'm glad you did when you could. The spring is wonderful, I think nicer ever year! But your granddaughter is 30? Wow! I read this comment last evening, then I had a dream that a girl in her late teens, early twenties came in to our Christmas celebration, and I was like, "Oh, that's my oldest granddaughter Meghan! " Everyone was puzzled, but that's how dreams are... (Just so you know, I'm always happy when I see a comment from you, Marilyn!)
