So sweet, with Kathryn...
With me, with Darius, with Jonny...
Things didn't go as we would have liked, but the baby is well and healthy, and Kathryn will have a bit longer of a recovery. She had to have a c-section, because baby didn't like the contractions. Poor Kathryn already lost an entire night sleep, then at 2 a.m., he was born. It was becoming obvious he was in distress, his cord was all tangled, poor little guy.
I am super thankful for technology, for compassionate doctors, midwifes, and nurses, and that we live where we do, with such excellent health care. Achilles is healthy and strong, small, and sweet. Kathryn is relieved it's over, and Darius is over the moon. Jonathan and I decided to come back to their house to sleep a bit, then pack our bags...we will go back to the hospital and visit for a bit before we head to the airport this evening.
It's been busy and tiring, but my heart if full of thankfulness for that little baby boy. Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts, words, and prayers.

OH !! YEA!! He is gorgeous!! I have been looking and looking on your blog. I'm so glad its over for your daughter. So difficult and so rewarding all the same breath. But she has the most beautiful baby boy to love now and she will forget what she had to endure.

Yay! I've been checking for an update and keeping Kathryn in my thoughts. So happy to hear the little man is here and safe and healthy. Have a safe trip home tonight as well!

He is adorable! I am sorry that you don't have more time with him, but I am sure that Grammy is not going to be long without seeing him. The technology that we have now to stay connected to loved ones is amazing and I am thankful that the doctors were able to keep that precious little one safe.
