still here in Oregon, no baby yet...
We went to Home Goods, but didn't buy anything...then to a coffee shop, the coffee was pretty good. The problem: it was served in those air-pots. Why do that to a good coffee? It simply wasn't hot enough, so I went out of my comfort zone, and went back with the coffee, the nice barista-guy replaced it with a hot pour over, which I should have ordered in the first place. But, I didn't realize that the regular coffee was from an air pot. Anyway, it was quite good, especially the nice hot pour over.
Isn't Kathryn cute? She looks fantastic, even one day overdue. And don't even ask what Jonathan and Darius were doing.
They grilled burgers, we had onion rings and bacon, I had no bun, and leftover asparagus for dinner. I didn't have ice cream for dessert, just a few salt and vinegar almonds, which are so good.
The days go by, I miss home, I talked to Paul, Sonja, Char, and Cam today. I am happy here but can't wait to go home.
And, I can't wait for baby boy to arrive.
God sends all things for our very best, and though it seems clear to me that it would be best for baby to be born so I can spend maximum time helping and supporting Kathryn as a new mommy, before heading back east..I also realize that I do not see the big picture, and even in the small details, God HAS this. It is restful and comforting to acknowledge this.
I'm not sure what our plans are for tomorrow, but I sure like going to new coffee places!

My friends and I love new coffee places. I hope that baby comes soon.
Hi Della, I’m nor sure what an air pot is? I have to say I like my coffee HOT also. I’m not a great fan of Starbucks though. I almost never drink it here as there are so many other coffee shops that are so much better. Every now and then I like a latte, but mostly I just drink my coffee black and no sugar. This way I can taste the coffee ........good way to tell if it’s good coffee 👍 I do hope Kathryn has the baby soon.....as you said you want to be there to help her with the baby. There is nothing more overwhelming than the first little while with that first little baby. I remember it well and that was 53 years ago!!! Enjoy your days!!
Marilyn from Canada
I hate to tell you this, but I went 11 days overdue with my first. My sister has gone 8 days over with all four of her kids.
If Kathryn goes late, can you change your ticket and stick around longer?
Good luck to everyone!
Carol, I have been buying bags of coffee to give as Christmas gifts, but I want to keep them all!
Marilyn, an air pot is simply an insulated dispenser, not so fresh.
Kara, not sure if I can change my ticket. My sister went way overdue with some of hers, too. Kathryn's midwife said next Monday might be induction day if she's still pregnant, and if there are any issues at all. The thing is, I kind of need to get home, too...as it is, I arrive back on Saturday the 14th...ten days to do everything at home, and I MISS MY HOME KIDS, ha. And Paul!
Kathryn looks adorable! Glad you are enjoying the coffee! It's not Seattle but Salem represents pretty well. I WISH I could invite you over for a visit but the kids have been down with fevers and colds for 2 weeks now and our house is full of germs I'm sure! Looking forward to baby news when it comes! 💛
Joy, I do love the coffee! It makes the Starbucks and Dunkin I brought with me...meh. I am sorry to hear your little girls are sick! My grandkids back home have had similar, it's hard to see them like that. Hope they get better soon!
