and it's Friday again...almost Saturday, now!

Oh the rich and exciting life of an old stay-at-home mom, who rarely stays at home.  From driving Camille and Char to work, then the water aerobics class (all three classes this week, yay!), to the thrift store (I found a nice bathing suit for me for $4.99, and a sweet OshKosh jumper, and a little Columbia jacket for some lucky little grandson) (the pool wears out bathing suits really quickly).  Then a quick trip to Aldi, then ahh...home.  Not for long, time to pick up Camille!  Then home again, ahhh.  I got into my suit and sat in the sun, went in the pool...seriously, ahhh!

This was yesterday...

Today:  the sky was so blue!  The trees start shading the pool by 2:30 now though...we need to cut some of them down.  There were so many leaves in the pool already!

This afternoon, Charlotte Claire and Camille packed up their sleeping bags, coffee mugs, instant oatmeal ,s'mores stuff, trail mix, air mattresses, ect., and went off to the Adirondacks with Emily.  I was invited, but tomorrow looks rainy, and they're going hiking.  So I'm sitting this one out.  Our new RN, Miss Sonja K., had to work a 12, so I saved her a nice dinner, steak and salad.   What a quiet evening here without the two younger girls!

So many plans are afoot!  We're heading to Florida one of these days, Jonathan is coming home from Germany one of these days, Molly is having a baby one of these days (she's due at the end of the month), then Margaret soon after.  Then at the end of September, there's a trip to Phoenix...it's absolutely lovely there in October, we were there last year for Halloween.  Warm and sunny!  It'll help me cope with the end-of-the-pool season.  There were so many leaves in the pool already today!

Evelyn Joy is having a birthday one of these days, turning 24.   She's been so grown up for so long, she must be older than that!  She has her own car and apartment and a college education and a good job!  She brings the fun and the sunshine when she comes to visit.

Tomorrow, I have no plans...except there is a community garage sale in a nice neighborhood nearby, but Miss S.K. says no way,  she is NOT going, she knows people who live there.  I guess that's social suicide? I mean, people sell the stuff they don't want, why would it be awful to be seen there buying it?  I don't know.  So maybe it'll just be little old me.  I haven't actually Garage Sale-d in years.  It used to be a thing, I'd pick up my mom, with the van full of kids, I'd let them take turns getting out with me, or we would all get out.    Maybe I'll do some shopping with Sonja.  Lydia's birthday is one of these days too, and guess where the party is?  Yup!  I bought a huge inflatable unicorn sprinkler today, so let's hope it's a hot gorgeous day, so we can swim and play outside.

After Jon comes home, and after Lydia's party, after Evelyn's birthday, is another camping trip.  We have a beach site, next to Ben and Ashley.  I'm excited about everything except the sleeping-on-the-air mattress part, along with the leg cramps.  And, I hope we don't get rained out again.

My car:  it needs some bars?  I feel the stupidity descending when I try to remember what the mechanic said.  But it'll cost around five hundred dollars, and he hopes he'll be able to fix it.  The shop we brought it for the alignment is owned and run by Mennonites.  They're all there in their button down shirts, and they're all so nice.  No public school for those kids, they look like 12 or15, working in the offices.  They also sell cars, mostly pick up trucks and mini vans, and all black.  :)

Anyway.  No boring moments here.  The fresh morning air has had the promise of autumn, or rather the THREAT.  All my beautiful flowers will be dying soon, wah.  Right now the crickets are chirping, the dogs snoring, and it's peaceful.  I'm tired, from swim class plus a vigorous swim in the pool, along with the shopping, then vacuuming, ect., phew.  Tired enough, and rather glad for my comfy bed instead of an air mattress.     Good night, and have a very nice Saturday.

Hello Della!

Such a busy lady! I’m sure you will be glad not to be camping in the rain!! Not much is worse…….in my humble opinion. I’m glad your car repairs aren’t too much. $500 doesn’t seem much when you are expecting way more!

Lots happening in the next while……..births, birthday, Jonny coming home, going to Florida!! Going to Phoenix!! Oh my……….

Have a lovely weekend

What a busy life you lead! I do as well. Stay at home mom is a full time job and never a dull or peaceful moment it seems. Always a long to do list and no time. I hope you enjoy your vacations and I hope that everyone enjoys the hiking.

Dear Della, I just received your sweet comment on my blogpost (Closed Doors, Open Windows), and had to come and visit you. I believe I've met you here on blogger before, but apparently it's been a while. You are ONE BUSY lady with your beautiful big family! I looked at the picture of you and thought, "how can that be possible? she looks so young and beautiful!" You have a lovely family and you really are amazing. Thank you for visiting with me. Wow, if you ever do get to Florida, it would be such fun to meet you and your family in person. I wonder how you can travel together? Anyway, have a blessed and beautiful weekend. You certainly have a lot of love to go around!

Marilyn, those girls stayed a second night! It must not have been too bad. And you're right, Five hundred isn't too bad, it was under two hundred last week, but two thousand a year ago, that car, harrumph. :). Yes, a lot happening...and I thought when the kids grew up, things would calm down!
Carol, I know, so busy!
Pamela, I love that you visited here! You are too kind, and when I go to Florida, it's usually with Paul and just a few of the kids. When they were all still at home, we never did attempt it. It would be fun to meet you! We're probably only going to be there a few days this time, we're settling Grandma into a new room in a care place in Zephyrhills.
Terri, I've heard about the awful heat down there! It's been cool in the morning and evening here, almost fall-like, and I'm wanting more warmth, send some up! The pool was almost chilly yesterday!
Linda, thank you!!!
