bad and bad....

...I just want to chime in here and say this:  my knees are bad.  What?!  You're tired of hearing about my knees?

I went to the tractor/agricultural museum with some of the kids and grandkids today.  That place is amazing, and today there was an Easter egg hunt!

Baby B, Miss Blythe, aka Ms. Blythington...anyone else have tons of nicknames in their families?
Ellis
Wulf
Some of the cookies I made with the Handle The Heat recipe for sugar cookies...I flipped them over on the cookie sheet because the bottoms looked done and the tops didn't.  Some I added Reese's Pieces to, and a few chocolate chips.  I broke a piece off and: divine.  I made these this morning before going out the door.

The museum was so much fun, but I had to find places to sit down.  I've been there before, and there are plenty of benches placed throughout, which is perfect.  (Once I've walked/stood too much, sitting down is extremely painful.  The knees don't want to bend, and when I insist, they scream at me.)  Stores should have benches too.  Walmart used to have them at the pharmacy, and at the deli counter, and in the back.  I remember my mother sitting down a few times while we Walmarted.

Home...a rainy day...toys scattered around, Sunny resting peacefully...
Four year old Tenny is adorable, he was delighted to hold his baby cousin Ellis.
That's me in my comfy chair, with Tennyson, Achilles, Blythe, and Rhys.

I made burgers for dinner.  I mixed up some minced onions, onion powder, garlic, salt and pepper, and sprinkled it on.  The iron frying pan had to do, because I wasn't about to grill in the rain today.  I made fries and onion rings in the air fryer, and also cooked up five hot dogs.  The kids ate really well, it was a good dinner.  I scarfed mine down really fast so I could hold baby Ellis so Kathryn could eat.  She was already ringmaster of the three ring circus of the other kids, ha, it was the least I could do.

Oscar was here for dinner too, the kids love their Uncle Oscar.  It was chaotic at times, sometimes a bit loud, but it went by too fast and now the house is quiet again.

Paul and I cleaned up and washed the dishes, wiped down the table and counters, he washed up the stove top, and ahhh, into my comfy chair.  Tomorrow I'm going to the pool, then having my friend Annetta over for a few hours while her car gets fixed in the shop down the road...sounds blissful.

You all have a good night!

I love all your pictures especially the one of little Tenny and the baby. What a darling little boy he is 🥰

I’m sorry your knees were not playing nice at the tractor museum 🥺 What a fun place for the kids though! The cookies look yummy 😋 Supper sounds delicious 😋

I’ve been thinking about dear old Suri. I hope she is doing well. 🥰

Have a wonderful day! ☺️

Hello, my friend. I restarted blogging in February (my blogs were previously "Under Kansas Skies" and then "Untypical Life"). Took me this long to hunt you down so I can read your posts again lol. // I read you previous post about your knees. I had my total right knee replacement in February 2013. I absolutely had to have it as there was no catilage left between the bones and I was in serious pain. I was back to normal life in less than a month! I felt so great, even within days of the surgery. Then, last year, February 2024, I had my total left knee replacement. As with the first surgery, I also needed this one for the same reason - no cartilage left between the bones and in severe pain. I was almost ready for a wheelchair it was so bad, but got into surgery in time. Since I'm 68, it was about two months before I was back in the swing of things, but all is wonderful! One knee has "old technology" and the newer one has the "new technology." Do I feel a difference? Yes. The left one is tighter, but I'm still very happy with both my knees. I'll be praying for you, dear! I'm sure all will go well! Easter blessings to you!
