home early!

Our camping trip was wonderful!  The sunsets from our campsite:  lovely.  It was a bit chilly, sometimes we had to bundle up because of the wind.  But when the wind calmed down, we had some nice times at the beach.  It wasn't swimming weather, and the water was 49 degrees, brrr.  I did get my suit on and wade out to my knees, then decided nah, I'm good.  :)

We spent some time in the sun though.

Bacon on the new Blackstone...mmm.
We accidentally left the propane connector to our little Coleman gas grill at home, so we stopped at Walmart on the way up to get a new one.  Well, when we got ready to grill our dinner the campsite, we discovered the connector didn't work, it was for a Blackstone, so it can connect to a bigger tank and not just the small propane bottle.  I told Paul that we had $75 in Target rewards, and the small Blackstone griddle/grill was $149, so we drove up to a Target, and got one.  We already had the new connector!
Sunny....
This is how we (Paul) made dinner before we went to Target...it WAS good!
The heart shaped rock...
Just our camper table...full of fun things, that lantern is rechargeable.

My favorite camping blanket...
The beloved camper.
The vacuum cleaner, and yes, I used it.  :)

Sunny in the sunset
Marshmallows!
All packed up and ready to leave!  We were supposed to stay until tomorrow, but we decided to come home a day early.  It was sunny and nice, but the wind was very chilly.  We had an excellent time together, but we were ready to go home.

Paul made a sling and got pretty good at sending those rocks flying really far out into the water.

I thought this heart shaped rock was so pretty...

The wind and the waves!

Anyway.  It's getting late, I have laundry to put in the dryer, and my gym bag to pack for the pool in the morning.  Suzanne is coming over tomorrow, and Kathryn is too.  When we got in the door with the camper to unload, the girls were making dinner, super yummy homemade chicken tenders, sweet potato fries, and Brussel sprouts roasted in the air fryer.  I helped them get it finished in exchange for them bringing in some loads of stuff...Char even put the refrigerator stuff away for me.

Getting home from camping these days is a whole different ballgame than it was back in the day, with all the kids!

I did meet a very nice lady while camping.  Her name is Susie.  Her and her husband pulled into the site across from us yesterday.  This fine morning, Paul was working out in the yard, exercising with his kettlebell weights, and I was practicing walking and doing some different stretches and exercises.  The guy across the street came over and introduced himself, and asked if I had knee replacement...he had both done...then his wife came over, Susie, and she stayed a while and we talked and talked.  You know when you hit it off with someone, so nice!  Well, when we decided to leave, later, I was in the truck as Paul hitched up the camper, and she came over and was very sad we were leaving!  I didn't get her info but she lives a few streets over from one of my daughters and I just know we will see each other again!

Anyway, I am tired, and I had wanted to write more about camping...about how I sleep and sleep in that camper...it's not even that the bed is comfy, because it's less so than my at-home bed.  I think it's being out in the fresh air all day!  I love sleeping in the camper.  I love that morning coffee.  Honestly, just being with Paul and making our meals and going for drives, it's like the old days, like playing house.  We still enjoy each other immensely, and have so much fun together.  (If any of the kids had come up, it still would have been nice, but we had a good time just us).

At home we can get into our routines, so it's nice to break from that and change things up.  :)

You all have a good night!
