Tis a cold snowy day, again! We have had snow for weeks now! It's like winter stopped in for a visit, got comfy, and decided to stay a while. I just got back from PT, an hour ago. I ice and elevate when I get home now, so we can leave there quicker, as Paul has work. Also, I tend to get a little dizzy there, the florescent lights, lying flat on my back for twenty minutes, ugh. So home...ice...marinated some chicken, made a coffee, ate a spoon or two of crunchy peanut butter, and here I am.
PT today: (because I know you can't wait to hear about it! ha). The weight was increased on some of the exercises, they were challenging, yet satisfying, not really painful anymore. I told the therapist that I walked around the house so much on Saturday, and my knee didn't buckle once. Then it did on Sunday morning, then again today. But, it does it way less than before. They added an exercise with a resistance band to strengthen the thigh muscle. We walked about how one lady I saw there is back in the swim class already, and not to compare myself to anyone, each person heals differently. (Although to be honest, I really did have have some jealous thoughts!) Oh, my extension was 117. It's coming along.
Before I went today, I got my four-legged cane in my left hand, and took Miss Char's arm, and we walked back and forth across the living room. She said I wasn't holding on very much, but I was rather leaning on the cane. So, it'll come. I need courage and strength, and I'm doing all I can to hurry it all up.
Ten days until Christmas! I want to bake and frost cookies and go shopping! :). But, I'm enjoying my recovery as much as possible. We tend to wish things away instead of reveling in them. This is my life right now, and days are numbered, as morbid as that is. It's not how I would choose, but it's how it is, and I am not going to grump through the days. In a few months, this will all be a memory, hopefully a good one, ha, and I'll be on the go again.
Ah well....you have a good afternoon!
