...so I went over to Cheryl's house this afternoon. I had this beautiful Peg Perego baby pram years ago, that I gave to one of my nieces when she had a baby...she passed it back to a cousin who used it for her baby...(one of Cheryl's girls), then Cheryl had it. She kept telling me I could have it back, it was in storage at her house. Well, today I went and got it. It had spots on the hood and didn't look extremely promising...but. A wet washcloth with Tide, and those spots are gone already! I wiped down the frame, and washed one of the wheels, a lot of elbow grease and some Bar Keeper's Friend. The frame is stainless steel, and looks better already. I am soaking the inside pram piece and mattress pad in a bowl of detergent and water, and can't wait to see how it comes out. Miss Evelyn Joy is going to love this for her baby.
So happy about the pram, cleaning it up and making it nice and new again is SO much fun! They seriously don't make them like this anymore. I'll post some pictures when I get it done and all put together. Sad: going to her house and her not being there. The girls are sorting through her things, and gave me a tank top with a shirt over it, that she had made. Seeing her clothes, oh my goodness....there was one shirt she always wore, a button down floral that she wore over tank tops...I told Katie to keep that one, drape it over a chair...I started to cry. I came home with one of her floral canes, not that I want to use it:). So yes, happy and sad. I miss her so much it's crazy.
This was a very busy day. I went to swim, then to brekky with the people in the class. There's nothing like a nice hot omelet and cinnamon raisin toast with hot coffee and cream after a good pool session. Then home...ahh, home. I sat, I cleaned, did some laundry, then my friend Linda came over and rode to Karen's with me, and we had a glorious time in the warm sunshine. Clear blue skies, warm pool water, ahhh.
Ah well. I'm so tired. Lots of swimming today, and it's ten o'clock. Time for bed for old people. :).

I'm glad you got that pram and are bringing it back to life to be used again.
I get that happy and sad feeling. So nice to see those things and think of her, but so hard too.
We grieve for those people in our lives who we love the most when they are gone. The reunion will be wonderful some day:)
The pram sounds wonderful and how great that it cleaned up so well.
Sending love and hugs. It must be hard going back to your sisters house.
Good morning Della!
I’m looking forward to seeing the pram with its new life. Evelyn is going to love it. I think a pram looks so much more like something for a baby. I had one for my babies and LOVED it. I lived in Vancouver BC when I had my first baby, and it rains a lot in the winter, and I would put her in the pram and put the rain cover on and off we would go for our daily walk, in the rain.
You are not old Della! I have a daughter the same age as you so what does that make me? Ancient I think 🤣🤣🤣 When my grandchildren would ask how old I was………when they were little…… I would say Older than dirt! They thought that was so funny 😂
You have that wonderful holiday to look forward to too! How much fun will that be? My 2 girls are off for a 2 week trip to London next Tuesday. Lucky them eh? They have lots planned.
Have a lovely day Della 🥰

I also have one of her floral walking canes, will I ever look at it and not cry? I don't know. But I am so thankful for the lifetime I had with her...
This is true!
Thank you!
Marilyn, older than dirt is something my mother-in-law used to say, love it. It's a blessing to get old though, isn't it? Your girls are going to London for two weeks, wow, so nice! I went once for just one day, on a flight layover...it was wonderful.
I'm late getting here. I understand the happy/sad completely. Della, I still have a t-shirt paisley top that was my mom's. She died in 1995 and that shirt is still hanging in my closet. When I wear it, it feels like she is hugging me, all these years later. I kept one of Joe's shirts for the same reason. It matters, and it helps, and Mom's shirt still launders just fine. I don't know how long she had it before I got it, but the stitching is still strong. I think it is indestructible after all these years of being worn and washed. Hooray for bring the pram back to a usuable condition for yet another generation!! I'm looking forward to seeing the photo!! xo
Terri, I love that you have one of your mom's shirts, and one of Joe's. When my mom passed away, I kept her "mu-mu" nightgown, and my Suzanne was just a little girl, but she wore that for years and years, just cuddled right into it, and reminded us all of grandma. :)
