Nine years ago today, we went on a little outing to pick up one very special little girl. Sunny, Little Miss Sunshine. She was SO cute, and still is.
Zucchini bread...I doubled the recipe from Sally's Baking Addiction, put it in a 9x13 glass pan (lined with cooking sprayed parchment, so when it's cool you can lift the whole thing out and slice it up...). There's a corner you can see near the top of the picture without chocolate chips, for Miss Camille.
I always add a bit of cardamom, and a good shake of pumpkin pie spices in addition to the cinnamon and nutmeg. It just came out of the oven, and can I just tell you that it smells just plain heavenly in here? If I could make this into a fragrance or a candle, I'd be a millionaire...or billionaire. I am in love with the aroma...
Bare feet out to the garden this morning, in sweatpants instead of shorts, just a bit chilly, crunching through the leaves. I picked a bowl of grape tomatoes, and yes I ate one. I have kept up with the zucchini this year, we didn't get too many, but actually just enough. I decided to make the zucchini bread because...why not? The spices, the warmth...so satisfying.
My two youngest girls have started college, but I didn't take a cute picture of them. Maybe I will get one later, as we are going out and about and they are thinking to get a pumpkin spice coffee...they'll be so happy, they'll smile for me, ha.
You all have a good day, off we go...
