The cold front moved in, we got some rain, and the forecast...is dismal. We have camping reservations for next weekend, and brrr! But, life is short, so we'll just think of it as a cozy weekend away.
Sunny in Ben's (or rather Ashley's!) van. Ben stopped by my campsite and asked me to go to the DG with him, and yes, but I had Sunny, as Paul was on a run...Sunny went with us. She hopped right into the driver's seat while we were in there...(the van was running with AC on, and locked, so she wasn't hot, and we were ten minutes tops). The beach...ahhh, so nice.
Ophelia...
That sky!
Paul and Sunny at the campfire...
Anya and Elise built an engineering marvel...:)
Ahhh. The morning sun at the campsite, highlighting the wrinkles. :)
Home...I like home. I washed my camping sheets, and towels. They're all clean and back in the camper, as we're leaving again on Thursday. We left the refrigerator on, and I've already restocked the eggs and bacon, and heavy cream.
Today, after I got home from the pool, I called the vet about Sunny's paw, she has a sore that hasn't healed. Tumor? I hope not. She's going in tomorrow evening to see Dr. Erik.
Then I vacuumed out the camper, and threw away one of the throw rugs in there, that's why they're called throw rugs, right?
I went to Aldi with Kathryn, and got another little rug, but it's way too small, so we'll have to get something bigger. I had already put dinner in the crockpot, some beef birria, so Kathryn and the kids were coming over after the store, and staying for dinner. I chopped onions, fresh cilantro, and garden tomatoes, and got out some Mexican shredded cheese. Corn tortillas browned in olive oil, sprinkled with salt and lime juice, and mmm.
All the little details with camping. Paul fixed a broken bolt, and there is a leak where the bed connects to the main body in the ceiling area, on the opposite end of the one he fixed earlier in the summer. It's a small leak, but it has to be fixed ASAP so it doesn't cause damage to the camper. The tablecloth got rained on, so I hung it out, it promptly rained. It dried again in the sun, then started to sprinkle again, so I grabbed it and hung it up in here. A tablecloth is only five bucks, but this one is still fine.
It is SO much easier to go camping with a camper. We keep the bedding in there, and the dishes and dish wash liquid, paper towels, trash bags, spatulas, frying pan, tea kettle for coffee water, our favorite mugs. When it's time to go, there's very little to pack. But, the end of the season is coming up after this last trip, so we'll have to clear it all out and put it away. It's important to clean it really well to keep those mousies out.
Tomorrow I'm going to the Dr. with Sonja, then...who knows? Any day now, she would like to deliver that baby. Those last days seem immeasurably long. She spent some time here this afternoon, she's used to being so busy, working, and now she has some time off...I like it.
Ah well. You all have a really nice cozy night...especially my friends here in the northeast, with the cooler weather. It IS cozy. :)
