Aaron getting in the truck at the dreaded Burger King near the hospital....Aaron "forgot" to pack our lunches.....
Ha, Emily, I caught you with fast food....
And I couldn't resist putting this picture up....this is what Aaron, Joseph, and Molly think is fun....they were giving Camille swingy rides in the laundry basket....Oh Mom, don't worry, she's fine....and you know what? She does look fine.
Here's another one I couldn't pass on....whoever was playing with my camera (which I wasn't going to share anymore after having Jon break it last time)....anyway, someone got down on the floor and got a cute shot of Miss Camille.....

We had a long day.....2 hours and 8 minutes to the hospital to meet the surgeon and discuss Aaron's fun and exciting ordeal: getting the Nuss procedure done....which is to fix his depressed sternum, or sunken chest, or pectus excavatum. Fixing this involves surgically inserting a metal "U" shaped bar through the front of the chest, under the sternum, and flipping it so the "U" pushes the sternum out....the ends of the bar are then stitched to the ribs on either side, and the bar is left in for approximately 3 years. The hospital stay for a young healthy teenager is about 4-5 days. He will be in a private room, so I could stay with him (with Camille?) We have to talk about it a bit more, then call to schedule it. It actually took us 3 hours to get there. But we didn't get lost....we waited for over an hour to see the doctors, which is okay....it's life....and I cuddled Camille, and nursed her in the waiting room...I must have been pretty descreet, because a young mom asked my Emily if her daughter, meaning Camille, was having surgery....Em told her that Camille was her sister....so this young mom didn't realize that I had nursed Camille at least 3 times.....anyway, the way home was uneventful, except I was tired....I ran a red light. There was a green light with a green turn arrow one light up from me, and I was watching that accidentally, instead of the light I was at....so, off I went....Emily yelled, "What are you doing, Mom?! You just went when the light was still red!" I think the east/west traffic already had red on their side, because no one t-boned us...I was shaky, and ready to let Emily drive home.....but sometimes these things happen, and they wake us up to be more careful.....
My daughter made mint brownies today.....we went to the dollar store yesterday, and do not tell Paul, spent $99.18.....at the dollar store!!!!!I still can't believe it. What did we buy? Lots and lots of Hershey's baking chips...mint, butterscotch, white chocolate, cinnamon, and mini-kisses....like 40 or 50 bags of them.....plus 14 bags of Nestle Treasures, then 8 half pound Hershey bars...and some fruit roll-ups....and some dark chocolate...we are really chocoholics here in our house....the kids will come to me asking for chocolate.....I have to hide it, and ration it.....I know it seems like tons, but one bag of Treasures doesn't even go around....and we always have extra kids over, and the kids always bring stuff with them when they go to their friends houses...
Anyway...it's nice that it's a bit chilly here again, so they can bake.
Our pool has a hole in the liner...4 nice little rivers of water were running out, taking a nice little pile of sand with it. Joseph went underwater with goggles and found the leak. So, he covered it with the bathtub drain cover and a brick on top....and I bought a patch kit....when it warms up outside, maybe Joseph will go underwater again and patch it for us....and I sure hope losing the sand from underneath is okay....
Tomorrow we are babysitting for 3 little kids, ages 5, 3, and almost 2....our friends' little ones....their daddy is in remission - cancer of the asophogus....they also have 5 older kids, who will be in school....anyway, their daddy has to have a procedure where his asophogus gets stretched out, and their Mommy has to be there with him when it gets done...so we are watching the kids. I am letting Sonja skip school to play with them...it will be busy here, but I love little kids.
Well, yesterday I wrote about Robert William....and I felt better writing about him...thank-you for comments....there is alot of pain in this world....I try to remember when I am out and about and dealing with people, that I don't know what they are dealing with...what losses they've suffered, what griefs they are bearing....

Glad to hear your trip to the hospital went well.. I do feel for Aaron, though. I have to tell you the funniest thing (to me, anyway, now it's funny after reading your blog). First my excuses: had my horrible root canal tooth worked on, went shopping for a few hours, and still recovering from Friday. I drove right through the red light at Moyers Corners. We were talking how I should have bought more gas at BJ's (4.10) and I was looking at both of the stations there, and Claire, in the front seat, still feeling pretty badly, says, Mom, you just went through a red light!! Sure enough, I did. I still can't believe we didn't get hit, there was no one coming at all in either direction. I thought the same as you, must be a wake up notice. Thanks to God, and help us to be humble..
That does sound like a long day.
And so you take in little ones to watch too? Don't think you have enough little people to look after? I am the same way. What's a few more?
