well wow!

Imagine my surprise and delight when last evening, while we were relaxing after our trip to the park, and a knocking at the door...and! Flowers! For me!!! From Paul! Dang I miss him. We've been married for almost 36 years, and shh, I still have a crush on him.

Our trip to the park was nice, the Riverfront City park, along the Willamette River. It was chilly, but we have over a foot of snow at home, so...

We stopped at a different coffee hut on the way home, and let's just say this: it only breeds discontentment for regular coffee. I rationalize it this way: I don't eat cookies or candy or ice cream anymore, very rarely, so coffee is my thing, my allowance, and when it's stellar and smooth, absolutely delicious with each sip, well, shoot me.

I made these yesterday, and didn't have nary a one, not even a taste of the dough, or a stray M&M. So if I want a $4 coffee, well, just let me.

So no news on the baby front, poor Kathryn is dealing with what all overdue ladies deal with, the feeling that baby will never ever arrive, and if one more person asks...!!!! Her sisters text her a few times a day, but she doesn't mind.

I'm not sure what today will bring, but yesterday was nice. I put the pork roast in the crock pot with fresh squeezed lime juice, cilantro, salt and pepper. We had pulled pork nachos for dinner. Darius and Jonathan went out and about during the day, and came home with slices of pizza and breadsticks that looked KILLER good, but no, I didn't have any. Oh it's hard sometimes, but if I want to be healthy, I have to stick to my guns, day in day out. It was hard to get out of the Thanksgiving break I gave myself. Pie! The next night, I couldn't say no, and had pie again. Thankfully there were only two pies, when they were gone and I was scrubbing out the pie plates, phew.

So many people say when they change their lifestyle and eat clean, the bad stuff just doesn't appeal anymore, but no sir, that is not me. It doesn't have the hold on me that it once did, because I know I can resist it, but it still beckons, still appeals. A well frosted cupcake is nothing short of a work of art, cookies arranged on a plate, same. Sprinkles are beautiful, and the crackly crust of a cookie top, mmm hmmm.

Anyway, I am enjoying the local coffee, and bringing home a few bags that I do not want to give away for Christmas...

Hi Della.........I like good coffee too. We stopped at a lovely little coffee shop the other day and I have to say the coffee was delicious ......hot and really good. My husband always has a vanilla latte 😖 YUK!! Soooooo sweet one might as well just eat sugar! Can’t taste the coffee, but he likes it and they are about $5!! 🙄 No accounting for taste eh? 🤣🤣🤣 I used to drink my coffee with cream and sugar and changed to black when I first did Weight Watchers and just got used to it. You are doing so well though Della and you look fabulous!! And poor little Kathryn.........she must be getting so fed up by now. Mine were both 3 weeks early and I can remember thinking I didn’t think I could last another day. Enjoy your visit though.

Wow! You do look good! Keep going!
I keep checking back for baby news. I have been there, tired of people expecting ME to know when baby will arrive, as if. Can't wait!
