here in the sunshine state...

...we are melting!  It's like being in the jungle, although I've never actually been in the jungle.  The humidity is smothering.  There was a breeze today though, so it was nice.  Plus, we spent most of the day inside, with Grandma.

Her niece came for a visit, so the two of us took a little jaunt to Big Lots, and a furniture store, to shop for a new couch for grandma.  We found some gray ones, and one nice blue one:'

We showed her the pictures, and she liked this one best.  She's moving into a new room on Wednesday, which happens to be her birthday:  94 years old.

We had a nice trip down.  We were in our local airport, and there was a familiar lady, but she was all out of context, not with anyone else I recognized.  Turned out she was traveling with co-workers, to Tampa to leave for a cruise, it WAS the lady I thought, Susan P.  from Canada.  It was so nice to talk to her, what a small world!

In the airport, at the Breeze Airlines seating area, where there are never ever enough seats for all the passengers, this guy and his wife were hogging two extra seats for their bags...

I just don't get it.  People were standing, but their bags had a place to sit.

Our flight was short and sweet, 2 and a half hours, and we were landing in Tampa.  We flew over one of my favorite lakes:

Keuka Lake!  It's Y-shaped.  Two of my favorite wineries are on that lake!

When we walked out of the airport last evening, wow, it was HOT.  We had to take an uber, not my favorite, but we did survive.   Getting here to Grandma's home was sad, with her not being here.  The house has an offer on it, it will be sold very soon, we have to clean out the last items.

This is the room Grandma will be moving into on Wednesday.  She's in a room now that's more like a hotel room, just a bed and a chair, and a bathroom.  This new room has a balcony, a separate bedroom, and a living room, thus the new couch.

After saying goodbye to her for the day, we went to Home Depot to buy a small refrigerator for her new room.  Then to Winn-Dixie for some food to make for dinner.  There was drama.  A man in the parking lot harassing people.  He was asking for money, and getting in people's faces.  We got into the store, and watched from the window as he followed a young mom with three little kids right to side of her minivan.  Another vehicle driving by slammed on the brakes, and an irate young woman got out, shook her finger and yelled at him, to get him to leave that mama alone...then the police arrived.

The guy started searching in his pockets, and the officers backed away.  I did feel sorry for the man.  Can you tell I live in rural, Upstate New York, not the CITY?

We came back here, cooked our steaks, ate our bagged salad (buying food is WAY cheaper than a restaurant...three huge NY strip steaks were 16 bucks, and there's enough for tomorrow too, at least for a snack).

Tomorrow, we have lots of details to take care of, but hopefully I'll fit in a swim too.  We will of course go visit grandma again too.  When we left, we said, See you tomorrow!  She said, Oh, that sounds so nice, see you tomorrow!

That is SO crazy (and cool) that you ran into Susan from Canada! Omgoodness that made me grin. I love when the world shows us just how crazy small it really is.
