questions?

Okay, I have slept in too late today. I rolled over and looked at my watch: 9:30. And Camille only woke up once in the night, I just had to tell her it was okay and cover her up, and back to bed I went. I am getting so spoiled....after years and years of nursing and being tired and never sleeping through the night....I know there were a few times I weaned one baby when I was three or four months along for the next, but then still had to get up in the night for bottle feedings, which I swore I would never do. ha. Anyway....I think my blog is getting boring, or maybe I think my life is getting boring, I don't know. But I wondered if there were any questions I could answer....does anyone have a question?

I stayed up way too late last night. When Paul said goodnight to me, I was surprised - "You're going to bed already? The night has just begun!" Emily and Abigail and Benjamin and Mirielle and Mali and Samuel and Margaret and Kathryn and Evelyn were still up. We have a new computer game, Sims3, which belongs to Mali, but they all like to play it. And they have new phones, so they text each other all the time.

Today is Coffee Shop Day. The temperature is supposed to stay below 14 degrees, with the wind it is just bitterly cold. It is snowing out, and windy. So we decided we would stay home and do something cozy. Coffee, tea, and Mirielle's pumpkin pie.

Right now Suzanne, Sonja, Jonathan, and Charlotte Claire are playing house. We have two giant excercise balls in the livingroom, and they are always in use. They bounce on them while they play Wii, and they fight over them. Oh, Suze is playing house, and she has a house set up in the corner, and she just mopped her floor. She had the phone, and was pretending that she was telling someone that when she was done with the floor, she would be going for a walk in the park. Charlotte Claire loves playing with Suzanne because Suze gets SO totally into the pretending.

Well, it is gettting later, and now Camille is up....she is on a late schedule too, she stays up 'til eleven and today slept 'til 10:30. She needs to be changed and fed.....oh dear, she just fell with her baby....

Hi, I have read your blog since almost the beginning. I have always wondered 2 things but never felt right just asking so if you dont feel comfortable answering I completely understand. Frist is my husband and I have 6 children and I would LOVE to have many more but my husband is DONE, I pray ALL the time for his change of heart but I am getting older (almost 36) so I know my years are ending but the main reason my hubby says NO MORE is finances, we are usually ok but lately we are struggling SO much, was there ever a time in your marriage/baby years that you questioned having more due to finances? I am not asking for any specifics, just was there ever a time when you got nervous if you would be ok financially having more kids?
Second is actually about your neice (??) you mentioned that she had leukemia, my 14 yr old daughters friend has it, she had a stem cell transplant 3 weeks ago so we arent sure if it will take or not just yet. Did your neice have a bone marrow transplant or stem cell? I only ask because I am pretty sure stem cell isnt as effective. If you could please keep Janelle in your prayers, it would devastate my daughter if anything happened to her friend. Thank you so much for being so honest and letting us *in to *your life, I thoroughly enjoy reading your blog!!! you are one blessed momma as am I!

I have a question!! :)
Do you pray at home with your children?
how do you bring them to religious feelings? I don't know how to ask this.. I mean how do you start talking about God to them, and do you have specific times/traditions at home for prayer/bible reading?
Do you talk about faith with the older ones?

Well that's many questions, but really only one: how do you live your faith at home?
he I got there in the end! :)

I don't think your blog is boring at all! I think you guys have a lot of fun, and some great ideas...I loved your Christmas Eve awards, lol, and the coffee shop idea is neat too.

I have a question too. Where were you when I went to the beach? And, do you think maybe we could both end up there at the same time next summer?

PS. How would you feel if I just accidentally drove by your house one day and stopped to see if anyone had made any yummy desserts?

Hi Nicky...first of all, the niece with leukemia: I have two nieces that had it. My sister Cheryl's daughter, Katie, who is the mama of the most beautiful girl in the world, and the French teacher at the local high school, and my brother Tom's daughter,Carrie, who is now 15 years old. Kate was 8 years old and treated with chemo, back when chemo was just starting to save children with leukemia. Carrie was only two, and had a bone marrow transplant with marrow from her older brother. I don't know much about the details, if Kim or Cheryl want to comment, they know more of the specifics. I will certainly keep Janelle in my prayers, as I am sure my sister and sister-in-law will. Medical science is truly amazing these days, and don't forget that God does hear our prayers.

I guess I can answer the other questions in a post..and hey, thank you for reading, and for asking....

First of all, I love your blog. My question is "do you ever dream about the empty nest?" I love my kids and all but I sure do love the empty nest (all the more room for grandbabes).

Oooh, ooh, pick me! Pick ME! I was just thinking of this the other day, about asking you if you would do a question and answer kind of post. I had all these questions that I had thought of but now I can't think of a one! Maybe it's because I am trying to get dinner on the table. Oh, I will be back and with questions!!!

Does it have to be a serious question?...or can they be fun ones??
I'm dying to know:) what the first thing is that you do in the morning when you wake up? (besides using the toilet:)????

And a serious one...
Does your hubby get overwhelmed by the signs of LIFE (read huge messes all over) that the kids create or is he naturally laid back? Do you do anything to make having a big family more enjoyable for him??

Nicky,

I'll certainly be praying for Janelle. I know some of what her and her family are going through. I'm Della's SIL Kim. My 15yo had a bone marrow transplant when she was 2.5yo.

You can't say whether a stem cell or bone marrow transplant is or isn't as effective as the other. It's like chemo protocol...each one is geared toward the specific disease, individual and circumstances. The advances in transplants are astounding. I know many things have improved greatly since Carrie's had her's 12 yrs ago.

I'm including a link to a condensed version of Carrie's transplant (could probably write a book about it lol) Carrie's transplant

Feel free to email me at kmomof10@frontiernet.net if you'd like to talk more. Also if you are in contact with Janelle's parents feel free to pass on my email addy to them.
