here on vacation....

...in western NY state, over near Pennyslvania...we actually drove into Pennsylvania yesterday to get a few bottles of wine for our afternoon charcuterie...and had a tasting while we were there.  My body cannot tolerate much alcohol, but one tasting is fine...it was so much fun, with these three girls...

My daughter Mariel, friend Lorraine, and Emily...

Marie, Darlene, me, Emily, Abigail, Mariel, Lorraine...we went out to dinner:  good food, good friends, too much fun.

It was a cozy place, and had some Christmas-y touches.

We're staying in such a nice airbnb!  3 bedrooms upstairs, one down, two bathrooms, a woodturning stove in the living room, plenty of comfy places to sit, a huge wrap around porch, and it's right on the lake.  The girls went swimming yesterday, I didn't because I had a headache, which eventually went away, phew.  And yes, it started before I had that wine tasting, I woke up with it.  By late afternoon it was gone, and that's a wonderful feeling.

We spent so much time on the porch yesterday, afternoon charcuterie!

Getting up in the morning is pure joy when you know you're going to have the best coffee with the best girls!

Today is chilly, so we are gathering in the living room instead of the porch.  I have a warm blanket, and my feet up on the ottoman, and some good hot coffee.  On Thursday, I stopped at a local coffee roaster, right up near the prison.  You are supposed to order ahead of time, but I asked him if he had any available, and he roasted some up right there for me, and oh my goody good goodness, it's delectable.  I told him I was going away for the weekend with some friends, and was bringing the coffee, so he offered to grind it for me too, so nice.

Anyway, I am super thankful to be here, it's been lovely...
(and GO DELTA AIRLINES!!!!)

What a beautiful getaway spot and nice to hear the coffee roaster story, always good to hear that kindness still does exist in this crazy world.
