where we were....

A long time ago, twenty years to be exact, there was a morning like no other in most of our lifetimes.  I got a phone call from my dad.  Turn on the t.v., we're being attacked!

Unbelief, shock, terror, sadness...I stood there with baby Suzanne on my hip, and Margaret, Kathryn, Evelyn close by...Margaret was four years old, and saying over and over again as we watched the towers crumble, What about the babies?  What about the kids?  Don't they care about the babies?

Margaret was here this afternoon, she remembers that day, as little as she was.

Emily, Abigail, Benjamin, Mariel, Joseph, Aaron, Molly, and Sam were at school.  We had a dentist appointment that afternoon for someone, and a pediatrician appointment for someone else, Paul took some of the kids to the dentist, I took the rest to the dr., no one was going to be away from us that day.

We were truly one nation under God during the aftermath of that attack.

We all will never forget where we were that day. It’s still very hard to watch the videos, those raw emotions come flooding back like it was yesterday.

I think we all know where we were when we heard the dreadful news. I was at work and my co-worker’s son called to tell us to put a radio on that a plane had crashed into the World Trade Centre! When I got home I was glued to the TV watching in horror. So shocking. I listened to Alan Jackson’s beautiful song again yesterday…..the one he wrote after this happened………it is such a great song and says it all. Your county really came together after that awful event and I pray you can all come together again in the near future. 💞💞

Our nation did, indeed, unite. Sure hope we can get to that place again someday - without the tragedy. xo
