and was it a doozy. The child who never gave us a lick of trouble about going to bed woke up this morning screaming and crying, and shaking....bad dream? I don't know. But then along came naptime, and she protested, loudly. She usually just takes her bottle and settles in happily. (I know, good parenting, sending that ba-ba to bed with her). She shrieked so hysterically that we got her back up....then every time we tried to put her back in, she drew her legs up, and screamed.....we weren't looking forward to night-time....but we got some new batteries for her Fisher-Price aqarium thing, that goes on her crib...and she went in just fine.
Today was a big day here: the youth girls are taking a trip soon, and it will cost each of them a little bit of money....and some don't have too much. So Emily, for me, arranged for 6 girls to come over and do some work outside, and will pay for some of their trip....they moved some of the woodpile, turned the garden near the hot tub, cleaned up the ash-pile from the fire-pit, washed and finished the deck and stairs, and washed the house.....they were such good helpers. Molly, Margaret, and Kathryn also helped. And Aaron and Mariel mowed....and Molly weed-eated....Joe cleaned out the utility room, and I vaccumed the stairs and washed some walls, and vacummed cobwebs, and all the furniture in the livingroom....and Paul replaced the kitchen window that looks out to the deck.....the wood frame was rotted right through..so he replaced it with a vinyl framed one. But the window he bought was much smaller than the old one, so it turned into an all day project. The window is installed, but the project isn't finished......but Paul has decided one thing: no more window replacements for him, the rest of them will be done by someone for pay.....
As soon as I sat down with a cup of afternoon coffee, with Camille in a nice nap, Benjamin called from work - his car broke down, and he needed a vehicle, because his present occupation, besides being a college student, is a pizza delivery boy. So Abigail and I saved the day. We drove two vehicles 14 miles to the city he works in, and left Ab's car there for him. His boss appreciated it, and made me a pizza....then, on to the grocery store, we were almost out of milk....a whole cartload of the usual, bananas, apples, bread, eggs, juice, vegetables, chicken.....then on to Blockbuster.....and home again home again, jiggity jig....
So, after this busy day, Paul took me out for dinner. We brought Camille because it was too early to put her to bed.....and the other kids were busy enough....so, we went to a cemetary, and drove around really slow with Camille on my lap.....stopping and reading the stones. We just like to do that. We like to see how old the people were....and he likes to see the veterans of the wars' stones....then we went to a fish-fry, and went in and ordered some haddock to go. Which we ate in the truck with me holding Camille....but it was fun, and we got to talk without interuption. Which is the whole point in going out. And the fish was positively delicious.....
Time to put Miss Camille to bed.
