well, that's not going to happen!

A trip across the country, driving through North Dakota, going to Yellowstone National park, driving driving driving....it almost happened.  But Miss Evelyn has made other plans, and is now flying to Seattle instead of driving her very own car with Jonathan and I helping, and flying home.  (She wanted her car with her, but it IS a long drive (2,700 miles!) She is going to Washington state for a few months to stay with a family and help them, as the mom isn't doing well.

I will miss her like crazy, but am also very proud of her for stepping up and offering to help, and it just feels right.  Ev has been working as a paralegal this summer, and wanted a change, then this need arose, and she felt it was a good thing to do.    Also, if you are a praying person, please pray for the mom, and the family that Evelyn will be staying with.

Tomorrow, little Tennyson and Wulf are coming for the day while Margaret has knee surgery.  It'll be a busy day, but I am really looking forward to it.  I do have a little bit of experience with small children.  :). (When I am with the grandchildren for any length of time, I wonder how in the heck did I do it!!!!)

Then on Thursday morning, Kathryn will be arriving with baby Rhys!

Friday night, Sam and Grace and Grant and little Ruth will arrive.  Today, I am vacuuming, washing bedding, cleaning up the guest room...

FAST FORWARD to TODAY....it was a busy day!  Wulf and Tennyson were here, their mama's surgery went well...and they left half an hour ago.

Tennyson wouldn't go to sleep for me, he was so tired, so we took him for a ride, to Target!  Wulf was very good in Target, so he got some new Matchbox cars.

Home, a few frozen pizzas into the oven, and then bake a few batches of cookies from the dough I made before we left for Target....Margaret and Adrian came here after the surgery, and Margaret rested with her leg elevated.  I had pulled pork in the crockpot, made some nachos, a simple dinner.

Tomorrow morning, to the airport to pick up Kathryn and baby Rhys!

Yay!  But shh, I'm tired.  Suri, our 9 year old Labrador, best doggo in the world, (but don't tell Sunny that!), she woke me up barking at 4:30 this morning.  I was glad she barked and didn't just poop on the floor, but oh dear I was all wide awake, and it was much too early to start the day, since I had a hard time falling to sleep in the first place.  Well, I got settled in and was on the edge of falling back to sleep, and ROOF ROOF ROOF.  Paul got up and took her out, she did have to go!  It was 6:19.    Double UGH.  I had to get up early and baby proof the house quick before the kids arrived at 8-ish.  No rest for the wicked, I tell you.

Then, a busy day.  Very busy.  Tenny-ten-ten is taking his first steps, and Wulf is just a busy boy!  Together, wowza.  I do wonder how on earth I ever did it.  I love them, though, they make life so meaningful.  They are so pure and innocent.  Pancakes with sprinkles, such joy!

Anyway, I am almost ready for bed, I'm getting old!

That is so kind of Evelyn to help a family in need. I’m not surprised your kids are so giving, you have been a wonderful example to them. :)

What a good thing your daughter is doing! Are you very disappointed not to drive cross country? I don't know if I would be. Part yes, part no. Love seeing those sweet faces! Hope you get some rest.

Hi Della 👋 Your pictures of the little boys are so cute. By now you have baby Rhys there for you to snuggle with…how lovely. THEN Sam will be coming with his little family. Hopefully with the tornadoes and flooding I keep seeing on the TV all is good with you and yours. That is lovely of Evelyn to go across the country to help a family 🥰🥰 It would have been fun to drive, but it is a long way. Have fun with your family.
