...heading back to New York...

Well, I'd like to say that I've had a relaxing vacation, but I haven't. It's beautiful here, and I love seeing my kids out here, but...well, when the world's upside down, you just want to be home. And getting home isn't always as easy as clicking your heels together three times, especially when you're a few thousand miles away. JetBlue was impossible to get ahold of. The wait time to talk to a representative was 60 minutes, I decided just to wait...then I was told to try again later, click. So we went to the airport to bring Miss Kap, and baby Achilles, to catch their flight back to Oregon...

She got through security, headed to her plane, and we went to talk to the JetBlue people in person. Talk about freaky, there were like three people in line. Anyway, I got the flight cancelled, but to rebook and fly out today was a bit pricey, they say you can change for free, but ha, you still have to pay the difference in ticket prices. So, we decided I would fly home tomorrow, on a different airline.

It seemed like a smart option, at the time.

Now, I wish I had left, because by now I'd be almost home.

We had a really nice evening though, puzzling, having steak tacos, and watching, "Instant Family".

We did stop at Target on the way home from the airport...there were some empty shelves!

(Miss Suze)

So tomorrow, I'll be heading home. Pray for me, that I can remember not to touch my face, keep my hands clean and sanitized, and that I don't sit near anyone sick on the plane. It's super stressful, and I HATE traveling alone as it is. It's like a really bad joke that isn't even remotely funny...

I'm so sorry that this virus has put a damper on your visit. I know it was nice to put your arms around them, but being at home seems the way to go.
Safe travels. Praying it goes smoothly and you stay healthy.

Hi Della........I’m glad you were able to secure a flight home. We were on hold for a while too, but suddenly there she was! We are with WestJet and the girl was in Calgary and so helpful. We could have gone tomorrow, but through Vancouver 😬😬😬 with a four hour layover. Vancouver is a HUGE airport and of course we have to go through customs at our first point of entry. Seemed like a nightmare so we opted for Tuesday when we go through Calgary and then a short flight home with just a 2 hour wait. We have to clear Canada customs in Calgary. Our flight is at 7am so not much sleep that night!! Phoenix airport is huge and we have to return our rental car first then shuttle over to the airport. I’ll just be like you.....glad to get home. Enjoy the rest of your visit. It’s too bad it had to end this way, isn’t it? We are going home 4 weeks early 😔 and into 14 days of isolation 😔But in the grand scheme of things, it’s not too bad.
