Well, it's been sort of a stay-at-home day, except for visiting little Elise and Anya and Ashley for a bit. I brought them some bits and bobs (I've never said that in real life, but isn't it so very British-y?)...rock garden sets from the dollar store, and a few clothes, a small toy each...
I purposely went over there in my sweatpants, I usually don't leave the house in them, it's just ASKING for a flat tire or a hospital trip, it's like having dirty hair...accidents always happen when one is not fit to leave the house. But I wore them so that I'd not be tempted to go anywhere else ha.
Yesterday, I drove Miss Sonja K. to college/work, then hung around in the small city for five hours. What?! She was driving there anyway, and I didn't have anyone home except Paul, who works all day...it was fabulous, it flew by. I went to the dollar store, then to BigLots. Have you ever there? It's too much fun. I found some adorable throw pillows, marked down, the 50% off the lowest price. Yes, I'll take them. Through the local coffee shop drive through, a cold brew with cream for me, one for Sonja with a bit of white chocolate and cinnamon, and to her college to drop it off for her. She still works as a health screener, so she was able to run out to the curb and grab the coffee, spoiled girl!
My next stop was Bed, Bath, and Beyond, where I found some good deals...it rained cats and dogs before I went in there, so I sat in the new truck and talked on the phone to my sister Cheryl. Then, Aldi, for a few groceries...then I was just DONE. I had more time, but no more shopping energy. I had already bought enough, although I am super careful...I try to only buy what we really need, or if I just want it, it has to be a good deal.
Last night's dinner was a simple taco salad, I cooked up the meat and seasoned it while Sonja chopped tomatoes, and cilantro, and got out the cheeses and salsas.
Tonight, we're having meatballs, and spaghetti...I don't eat the pasta, and don't have any spaghetti squash...sometimes I eat French cut green beans with the meatballs, but don't really feel like it.
I have to leave soon for Junior Activity club, we're celebrating a birthday tonight, so there will be gifts and candles and dancing....

That was a fun way to spend five hours and the drive time with your girl! Nice to get away like that now and then. I love Big Lots and also BB&B!! Glad you found some things you needed at good prices! xo
Hi Della 👋 I have to say I quite like going shopping on my own. I can look at what I like.....linger and meander till my hearts content. And yes ‘bits and bobs” is an English expression. Describes a multitude of things, doesn’t it?
I had to laugh at you going out in your sweat pants. My mother years ago............60 years ago probably.........drove my dad to the train station in her housecoat, slippers and hair in curlers and something happened to the car on the way home.....I forget what it was..........but she had to walk home!! She was MORTIFIED 😱😱 and us kids couldn’t stop laughing 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Have a great day!
