...cookies and more cookies, but not enough cookies...

Ahh, baking cookies...
Just chocolate chip with some holiday M&Ms, a triple batch.

Some have sprinkles and no chocolate chips...some will be for tomorrow, as we are celebrating Abigail's birthday.  Some will be for today, for the kitchen crew at church, and some for those working outside on the new winter project.

Aren't they SO cute?  Baby Rhys and little Achilles, all the way over in Oregon, which is too far!
Far-away grandchildren:  not fair.  They NEED their grandma!  Or hmmm, does their Grandma just need them....

I've been chipping away at wrapping presents.  They're all sorted into bags and boxes for each child or family, but shh, I've put them all into Jonathan's room, and he's coming home on Monday.  I either have to get them all wrapped and put under the tree, or drag all the boxes and bags into my room, ugh.  He might be fine with some of them left in there, but...

Every night before we go to bed, we make sure there are no goodies for Suri to get into.  Our garbage can locks, and we put that locked can into the laundry room and close the door.  Well, someone must not have closed the door tightly, because this fine morning, I was greeted with evidence....packages...crumbs...and sure enough, the laundry room door was open, the garbage can tipped on it's side, and a mess all over the floor....rrrr.  I took a deep breath, put on some disposable gloves, and decided to be thankful we have  them, and paper towels, disinfectant spray.  Your kids grow up, but if you have pets, there are still messes, especially if you have a piggy--pie Labrador.  She's like a bear in a state park, a hungry hungry hippo.

We're having some warm, spring like weather here in the Northeast, with temperatures in the 60's today, with rain and wind.  Those tornadoes down south, oh dear.  God bless those first responders!

So many things make no sense to me these days, in the news, but I need to find the middle of the road in it all, the balance between sticking my head in the sand, and reading every detail (and getting upset by it all!).   We've been fed so many lies, there is so much corruption, it's hard to know what is really true.    I'm thankful that all these things aren't where my center of gravity lies, that I have faith in a God of miracles, who sends all things for my very best.

Linda, I hope you guys are doing all right. It's a scary scenario, as we've been living in this latent dread for so long, then when it actually hits home, it's like UH OH! As much as I am absolutely repelled by the government's heavy handed, guilt-pushing, lying mismanagement of the whole Covid situation, I am comforted that nothing happens by accident, God has allowed it all, yet His word STILL stands true, and the very hairs of our heads are numbered. So keep your chin up, and don't let the heaviness of worry get into your heart. :)

Hello, my friend! Oh, those cookies! M~n~Ms are my favorite!!!! Peyton is doing the baking at her home this Christmas, so I have no temptation to eat the raw dough! Beautiful grandbabies. Prayers and love to you all. And hope for some colder weather for snow!

Have you ever tried to freeze your chocolate chip cookies? Does it work?

Kristi, I have not tried to freeze them. Many years ago, I would bake all sorts of Christmas cookies and freeze them, so I could arrange lovely platters of cookies at a moment's notice (oh dear, I sound magazine-house-wifey), but I never really liked the cookies as much from the freezer, just a hint of something that detracted, not as good as fresh.
