superbowl? who cares?

Not my sister and I. No sir, we took the opportunity to take a shopping trip. The weather was mild and summery, in the high thirties, and we had the stores pretty much to ourselves. I don't care much for football, but if a game is playing in the living room, I will sometimes follow it. But it is just one of those things, I can stare at the screen and think about what color to paint the bathroom, and not even for the life of me know who is playing who. In fact today, I mentioned that I couldn't name the two teams if my life depended on it. One of the girls asked, even if someone held a gun to my head? Sorry, no. But when we got home from shopping, it was still on, so now I think I could probably name them if a gun was to my head, but otherwise? I don't know....

Shopping: Grace, my niece's adorable little sweetie, and Sonja, went with us. They took full advantage of the empty aisles to dance and sing their little hearts out. I spoiled them a little too. Mozzarella cheese sticks, and I got them each one of those books that have the markers and secret answers, cheap cheap cheap.....of course. Then the McD's drivethrough for a $1 double cheeseburger, an icewater, and splitting some fries...they were as happy as can be...

I made a new friend. My sister was still in line, and I took Grace and Sonja out to the van, they got in and opened their new books, and I started putting the groceries away. The cart boy came over to wait for my cart. It was overflowing, and I like to put things away just so. The cart boy had a long wait. So, I started talking to him, and the kid must be lonely. At Price-Chopper, they employ baggers and cart collectors who are , I don't know the correct way to term it, they are a bit mentally challenged. This boy is so nice, so sincere. I enjoyed conversing with him, and said a little prayer that the world would be good to him.

Well, the ones here at home this afternoon took it easy....so guess who has to pay for that...? But that's okay.....they had the pizza I made last night, and I am glad it was relatively relaxing for them....helps me not to feel too guilty for being gone for 5 hours. Tonight the messiness doesn't bother me too much, but in the morning, I'm sure I'll find some grumpiness. Years ago, I would be scrambling to get things in order tonight, but now....I made some lunches for tomorrow, got out clothes for the little girls, and the rest....meh.

I'm with you. I only know of one of the teams that played tonight- the Steelers, and that's only because I saw a couple kids at church wearing Steelers shirts today. I also have no idea who won.

That would be very scary! I would think most doctors would encourage a woman to not have more babies after having a rupture. Your sister must be so thankfull that her doctor let her go on to have another! I'm not sure I could do that. Does she know what caused her rupture? How did she know something was wrong?

Thank you for sharing- there aren't a lot of women that I know who have had 5 or more kids, let alone by c-section. It's good to know there are others out there.

Hubby couldn't watch the game, as the wire from the amplifier to the tv fell off. Hubby put the ladder up but is too heavy to climb up and take down the antenna so we can reassemble it. He has requested that I not climb the ladder, since I am pregnant and tend to get dizzy on it when I am not pregnant. 11 Yr old can climb the antenna pole, but freaked out when he tried to climb the wobbly ladder. Maybe my neighbor, the skinny landscaper, is not afraid of heights. :)
