....isn't it almost a miracle?

At the airport with Jonathan...
Uncle Jonny with Achilles...

He's a friendly little guy, and can you tell I only had a few hours of sleep?
Oregon...so pretty!
The little family of almost four...
No, we didn't buy the bear, but shh, I did buy him a new toy garbage truck.

The playground!
The steak!

But, what a miracle...
...to be able to FLY across the entire COUNTRY?  To drive would be 42 hours, 2,800 miles!  But hop on a plane, and wowza.  It's not really that simple of course.  We flew to Charlotte, North Carolina first, and had a short layover...shorter because our plane couldn't "dock" at it's destination, another plane was there.  Um, did they not know we were coming?

We did have enough time for a Starbucks coffee (oh yum, an iced coffee with cream!), but no food, and we weren't hungry enough to pay $7 for a sandwich there.  We had packed mixed nuts, the good ones with the Brazil nuts and pecans, and added some mixed M&M's, peanut butter, peanut, and plain.  So our plane snack was decent.  Thankfully they didn't announce any peanut allergies, or we would have been hungry indeed!

Our flight from NC to Portland Oregon was to be over five hours, but ugh, we boarded, and...nothing.  Not a thing.  We sat and sat, and the poor mama a few rows ahead of us, her baby was already crying.  It got hot on that plane and there we sat.  The pilot announced there was some issues with something, so they had to have a cart there to charge something, and the cart ran out of juice, so they had to get another one, they passed out cups of water...then they had to resupply the water...two hours of sitting there, and yay, we were ready for take-off!  People were getting grumbly, and Jon showed me the lyrics of a church song..."Tell me why we should not be extremely happy...we've a living hope that we by faith can see...midst the battles, trials and toil we gain a vision, of the glory that forever shall be...."

So we made it here at what would be almost four in the morning east coast time...and went through the Taco Bell drive through, because why not?  Two crunchy tacos in the middle of the night!

This fine morning, we woke up early so we could watch Achilles while Kathryn and Darius went in for an overdue check up...she's still here, no baby yet!

We went to the play ground, and to the store ( steak, buy one get one free!), and spent some time in the back yard.

It's nice to be here, nice to see these guys...now, we just to meet the newborn baby girl before I have to head back home!!!

Good morning Della! Oh my……….that was quite the trip!! I’m like you I just HATE………..all the hassles and rules and lineups and delays!! It takes any joy out of the travel part of travelling. But you’re there now enjoying your little family. Let’s hope that little baby girl makes her appearance sooner than later. Poor Katherine must be beyond the fed up point by now!! The weather looks lovely too, after all the heat you’ve had. You little Achilles is a darling and I think he loves his Uncle Jonny 🥰

Have a really lovely visit.
