happy new year!

Just a quick post, I think. It is almost two in the morning, January 1st, 2009. Our kids stayed up to welcome the new year, all of them. They are going to be tired puppies for a few days. Poor Charlotte Claire, who was so excited about the bouncy house at church, got her big toe hurt under one of the heavy doors. It sort of crushed the toenail, and was pretty bloody. Nothing serious, but painful and upsetting. And the end of the bouncy house for her. After that, her big brothers and sisters and cousins and friends carried her around, and then she cuddled up in the stroller for a while. She was very good, though. She chatted all the way home, after 1:00am. They all went to bed like little angels.

So it is quiet in here. Just Paul and I are up. So, I am going to go and talk to him.....but I just wanted to say a quick Happy New Year, and a very very warm thank you to those who take time to read this, and to leave comments. It means a lot to me. Thank you!!!

Ouch for little you little girl! My daughter did that a few years ago when she slammed her big toe in my mom's front door. It took off the entire toe nail. Still makes me hurt to think about it! Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year to you too! I love reading your blog. You seem so content and relaxed with your children. I try to be, don't always accomplish that, but I aspire to be calm and take all of the little things in stride.

Your blog, with your older and younger children, your wonderful faith, and your funny little stories, reminds me to keep things in perspective. You are a terrific Mother!

Here is to a wonderful 2009 and lots more time for all of us to reflect and write!
